BIG DAY OUT INFORMATION

14 hours of set-up &/or pull-down = 1 Volunteer pass for 1 day.

If you want to attend both days and use set up hours you need to do a total of set-up & pull-down hours to make up 24 hours.

SHIFT A 12pm – 3pm & 6pm – 9pm

SHIFT B 3pm – 6pm & 9pm – 12am (except the cleaning team – see POSITIONS AVAILABLE - NEXT TAB)

We cannot offer any paid positions as we are currently a self-funded volunteer organisation. Maybe one day in the future.

  1. SET-UP & PULL DOWN (LIMITED POSITIONS AVAILABLE)

  • Bump in & Set-up Crew
  • Pull-Down Crew
  • Décor Workshops to work on decorations for the Chill-Out Lounge. This years décor theme is Vampires Carnival

  2. MASSAGE

In the past we have offered a large massage service. The committee have recently reviewed this service and due to our increasing commitment occupational health and safety standards has decided to reduce this service at this years Big Day Out.

This year we are looking for a small team to provide CHAIR MASSAGE only.

There may be an opportunity to be part of a small team who provide care to the Big Day Out Site Management, however this is a voluntary position.

  • Herbalists
  • Naturopaths
  • Homeopaths
  • Natural Pharmacy Assistants
  • Natural Therapists required for the Recovery Room

8. VOLUNTEER SUPORT

  • Volunteers catering team
  • Volunteer Coordination Team
  • The K.I.T (Keep It Together) team (runners & general hand)

9. TAROT READERS/ANGEL CARDS

The modality must be sensitive to the nature of the patrons and the event – large loud youth focused music event

10. THE PINK ROOM REST & RECOVERY SERVICE

  • Chill-Out Lounge Supervisors
  • Drug & Alcohol Support (require qualifications & current first-aid certificate or equivalent) for
  • Rest & Recovery Room (The Pink Room) and/or Roving Drug & Alcohol Support (LoveSavers)
  • Outpost Team - will look after an outpost station within the crowd at a location to be confirmed

11. SUPER CLEANING TEAM (different shift times)

  • SHIFT A: 2pm – 5pm & 8 – 11pm
  • SHIFT B: 5pm – 8pm & 11-2am
